Shimano Deore XT FC-M770 Review

Product Description
To create the XT HollowTech II Crankset, Shimano incorporated the crank arms and bottom bracket into a single unit to give you increased rigidity while dropping weight. Plus, Shimano hollowed out the forged crank arms to further decrease weight without compromising the strength of this crankset for your all-terrain mountain bike. The carbon-steel composite middle ring sandwiched between aluminum inner and outer chainrings adds to the life of your XT Crankset and increases rigidity for improved shifting and power.

Shimano FC-M770 Deore XT M770 Crank (175mm X 22/32/44)
Only "ONE" words : Fantastic Crank. Some people have siad that this crank is strong, lightweigth. XT has always been the workhorse but HT II is even better than old design. Install instructions are ok but some great install video's on youtube to check out before you put it on. Of course you must match to your existing bike, and pelase check your frame manufacture about install. The bearing preloaded can be adjusted, and then the pinch bolts are torqued down. The spindle won't wear out and constantly come loose or make noise.

This has been a very nice upgrade to your bike. It now seems to accellerate and climb easier, probably due to the overall strength of the crankset. Some review highly recommend this crankset. Shimano's SLX appears to be the same but has a steel granny gear instead of the XT's alloy granny gear.
